Digitally remastered and expanded edition including an LP of bonus tracks. Motel Shot is the fourth studio album by Delaney & Bonnie and Friends, released in 1971. The album, their third for Atco/Atlantic) and fifth overall, is a mostly acoustic set. The album's title refers to the impromptu, sometimes late-night, jam sessions pursued by touring musicians when on the road. The album reached #65 on the Billboard album chart, and includes Delaney and Bonnie's biggest chart single, "Never Ending Song of Love", which peaked at #13. Guest musicians on the album include Leon Russell, Joe Cocker, Duane Allman, Dave Mason, John Hartford, Clarence White, Gram Parsons and Bobby Whitlock.

The 1980 list here was included because the book itself wasn't published until 1981. But the book did not include reviews of any of the 1980 records. They were held back for the 1980s book, which offered a longer 1980 list: 65 records instead of the 49 here.
